Chpolansky enhances its additive manufacturing.

Chpolansky, the expert manufacturer of industrial valves and fittings, has set a goal to improve the characterisation of the metallic powders provided by its suppliers in order to match the right product with the right use. This goal falls within the scope of its Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) mould resurfacing activity. To this end, the company tasked Cetim with characterising several batches of nickel-based powder in terms of the composition, particle size distribution, flowability, bulk density, packed density and true density, etc.

This characterisation data, in conjunction with the types of technologies used by Cetim’s experts and the reference standards, helped us to select the right powder to resurface our moulds as well as to determine the type of resurfacing to be used for other applications” stated Fazati Bourahima, doctor of metallurgy at Chpolansky.

Learn more about these applications in the  reference sheet “Chpolansky – Improving the characterisation of powders, for better use”  on our website in the “Reference” section.
