Duplication of a Renault wear test bench.
At the request of Renault, Cetim has duplicated a test bench for the characterisation of friction and wear phenomena that was initially developed by the Renault Technocentre. The goal is to subsequently carry out tests on behalf of the manufacturers of gearbox synchronisers and lubricant suppliers.
Besides the material aspects, Renault’s teams and Cetim’s experts worked closely together to understand, step by step, the causes of the initially noted measurement differences between the two systems. This work paid off as the manufacturers of synchronisers and the lubricant suppliers can now carry out their tests at Cetim on a bench approved by Renault which gives the same results as the initial bench.
