A metallic part is considered to be defective when it no longer ensures its function (damaging, fracture, alteration of the surface appearance, variation of geometry or its mechanical characteristics).
Further to the failure of the metallic part, you would like to conduct an analysis in order to:
- identify the causes, origins and solutions
- understand the damage or aging phenomenon (phenomena)
- determine the liability of the parties involved (designer, supplier, manufacturer, user)
