EWGAE 2018: focus on monitoring

Acoustic emission could prove to be a key technology for the monitoring of manufacturing processes and structures. Ewgae 2018 will be held from 12 to 14 September in Senlis (France) and very well intends to provide evidence to this effect. In fact, a quarter of the 86 papers on the agenda for the 33 rdedition of the international conference on acoustic emission (consult the www.ewgae2018.com website) has been dedicated to this theme, in particular during specific sessions on the 12 th of September in the afternoon and on the morning of the 13 th of September. The first Keynote speaker of the conference, Igor Razuvaev, from Alcor Corporation, will also address this topic by shedding light on the past, present and future of the acoustic emission methods applied to systems used to monitor the health of structures. Furthermore, Cetim will be showcasing two real-time acoustic emission monitoring systems in the exhibition hall. These systems have been incorporated into a stamping press and an additive manufacturing machine.

The very full programme of this year’s edition will also cover all the innovations and developments in the field of acoustic emission, both in terms of the technology itself (inter aliain the hardware and software dedicated to signal processing) and its applications: inspection of composite materials, characterisation of materials, applications in pressure equipment, civil engineering, corrosion inspection, etc.
