Franco-german workshop on distortion
On Tuesday, September 20, we invite you to attend a workshop on distortions. For this special event both ITW Breme and Cetim will present four lectures. This will also be the moment to discuss in a privileged way with the speakers during a round table.
Deformations during manufacturing regularly lead to the scrapping of the parts concerned, or to reworking operations, and generate - beyond the financial losses - delicate situations about the quality requirements of the clients.
Even if the phenomenon has been known for a long time, there is still a need of a better consideration of the risk of distortion, from the design phase but also during the manufacturing process.
This problem is transverse as many manufacturing stages are concerned. Moreover, the complexity of controlling distortions lies in the interdependence of multiple factors: thermal, mechanical, and metallurgical.
To assist the manufacturers in the control of quality and the knowledge of distortion, Cetim organizes within the framework of its Transversal Thematic Project a workshop about the distortion.
During the four plenary lectures of this day, several technical topics will be addressed, aiming at understanding the generation of distortions, the influencing factors, the new experimental and numerical tools allowing a new approach of these problems. It will also be an opportunity to discover the current projects carried out by CETIM
On this occasion, guests from the IWT of Bremen will come specially to present innovative work carried out on this subject.
Finally, a round table will be held on distortions topic to discuss the problems encountered and possible solutions, between manufacturers and experts.
