Electrohydraulics - Case study (phase 4.2)
While hydraulic technology has been the preferred choice until now for meeting the lifting or very high power needs of “off-road” machines, the electrification of mobile machinery functions is increasingly widespread. Combining these two functions within multiphysics and multi-technology general architectures therefore presents a number of advantages, including greater precision, increased compactness and energy efficiency… Various studies have already been undertaken into this “electrohydraulic” technology. The study (S2040) presented here describes the different stages of the electrification of a hydraulic function – in this case a lorry-mounted crane – using system simulation and model based design. While this has identified a certain number of options and developments for hydraulic circuits, the electrification aspect requires a more comprehensive approach, ranging from numerical modelling to demonstrators.
