Rencontres 5.0 video – Food: when agriculture turns to robots…

Robots and start-ups will have a role to play in the agriculture of the future. Consider the Example of the Toulouse-based start-up, Naïo Technologies, covered in the "Rencontres 5.0" video, at the closing ceremony of the 50th anniversary of Cetim, on 5 July 2016 at Bercy. This start-up was created in 2011, and designs and manufactures "small automated electrical devices able to remove weeds mechanically, mainly for market gardeners", commented Gaëtan Séverac, one of the enthusiastic co-founders. These farming robots earned themselves a Mechatronics Award at the "European Mechatronics Meeting 2015" for carrying out "arduous time-consuming tasks, which cost farmers time and cash". But above all, "we provide farmers with a means of controlling their environment without need to use chemicals", explained Gaëtan. And "In a few years, everyone will have access to abundant, healthy, quality food without damaging the environment. I am convinced of it", he declared.

This video is part of a series of 4 videos.
