A Technocentre in Marignane
The new Technocentre inaugurated on 23 September 2016 in Marignane (France) offers companies unprecedented access to R&D resources and leading-edge equipment.
On 23 September 2016, 200 people discovered mutualised equipment and resources worth 12 million euros over a surface area of 2,100 square metres, during the inauguration of the Henri Fabre Technocentre, at Technoparc des Florides (industrial estate) in Marignane.
In this building, which was created under the impetus of private and public partners working together within the "Team Henri Fabre" association, companies, especially SMEs, can get access to research & development resources and leading-edge equipment in such fields as mechanics, materials, processes, as well as digital and virtual engineering. As from 1 November 2016, the building will also host Cetim's delegation for the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region (Provence, Alps, French Riviera).
Creating a synergy between local stakeholders
In order to create "The extended plant of the future" in Provence, this Technocentre federates and develops cutting-edge mechanics around aeronautics and energy trades within the territory, including Inovsys, a shared innovation platform (Plateforme Mutualisée d’Innovation) with which Cetim entered into a partnership agreement in early September 2016. This shared innovation platform is one of the achievements of the Henri Fabre project which was launched in July 2012 and aims at creating a synergy between local research & innovation stakeholders for the aviation, energy, medical and naval sectors. The final purpose of this project is the creation of 7,000 jobs in the region.
The outfitting of the premises (a EUR 1.7 million budget) was jointly financed by the French State, the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur region, the département (French county) and the Aix-Marseille Provence metropolis. This project will include equipment and resources pooled between the partners of the "Team Henri-Fabre" association founded in 2015. This association federates companies (Airbus Helicopters, Bonnans, CEA Cadarache, Cnim, DCNS, EDF, Euros, Expiris, Inovsys SAS, Onet, Oreca, Solution F, Technoplus Industries, Thales Alenia Space, Weir Power, etc.), research and training institutions (Arts et Métiers Paristech, Aix-Marseilles University, Centrale Marseille, Cetim, CNRS (French national scientific research centre), Mines Paristech (Cemef), the local education authority of Aix-Marseille, Seatech, etc.), professional organisations and economic development structures (ARII, Capénergies, Carma, CCIMP, Eurobiomed, Pôle Mer Méditerranée, Pôle Safecluster, Pôle SCS, etc.).
