JEC Asia 2018: Cetim to display a comprehensive offer
Cetim will display its know-how of the whole composite material value chain in Hall 2, on its two stands A23 and A25.
Cetim’s experts will receive the visitors of the 11 thedition of JECAsia from 14 to 16 November 2018 in Seoul, South Korea, and will present a comprehensive offer in the field of composite materials, from design to recycling and including production and testing.
Thus, on stand A23, Hall 2, Cetim will display its “Design to Cost” software solution aimed at optimising, in a simple manner, any part made of composite materials. QSDis the result of several years of joint research with Oneraand Altair and is based on a unique method which makes it possible to simply and quickly identify the optimum performance level of parts, for a given selection of materials and a given process.
Production and inspection will be illustrated by the Quilted Stratum Process (QSP)(a high-speed production line for composite material parts) which previously received a JECInnovation Award, the Spide TPprocess (manufacturing of parts by filament winding), the non-destructive testing technologies specifically developed by Cetim for composite materials and Cetim’s “Testing” offer. This comprehensive offer, dedicated to composite and polymer materials, relies on the association of Cetim’s laboratories together with Etim(its subsidiary specialising in testing) and the partnership entered into with KMTL(Japan). This offer was recently strengthened by the acquisition of Matcor(Singapore).
It should be noted that Cetim will also present its experience in the recycling of composite materials, with the “Composites and Recycling” pilot R&D platform implemented by Cetim Grand Est and which opens new areas for the recovery of thermoplastic composite and plastic materials.
An Innovation Corner
Cetim’s Innovation Corner, located on stand A25, will showcase the tools developed for the QSPtechnology and the demonstrators produced with this process, among which a composite bumper bar 30% lighter than its metallic counterpart and compatible with production rates of 300,000 parts per year.
In 2017, JECAsia, organised by JECGroup, brought together 230 exhibitors and more than 6,000 professional visitors around the latest technological developments in the composites industry for the aerospace, automotive, carbon fibre, construction, renewable energies, sports and leisure sectors.
