Four new companies awarded the “Vitrine” label by the Industry of the Future Alliance
In total, 35 companies now boast the “Vitrine de l’Industrie du Futur” (Industry of the Future showcase) label in France. The Industry of the Future Alliance (AIF) recently awarded the label to four new candidates. The four companies have diverse profiles and approaches. Bouygues Construction Matériel, the public works machinery rental specialist partnered with a start-up, Viibe Communication, to develop and implement a website optimising remote assistance, maintenance and trouble-shooting processes. This tool allows technicians on worksites to communicate and share with experts in real time inter alia via augmented reality.
Dagoma, a start-up located in Roubaix (Nord) received the label for its original social, industrial and economic models. This manufacturer of 3D printers, which are themselves printed in 3D, set itself the challenge of bringing this technology into the mainstream by making it affordable and easy to use. It relied on a collaborative approach to involve its employees and a network of customers and partners in this process.
Another recipient of the Industry of the Futur Vitrine label is the SME Fonderies de Sougland located in Saint-Michel (Aisne). This SME also banked on a revolutionary change in its business model. In 2014, as part of an overall strategic industrial project, it created an in-house integrated R&D department with new design, production, logistics and management technologies to meet the requirements of the new economy.
Lastly, Faurecia Caligny (Orne), the fourth recipient of the label completely reviewed its operations upon the grouping of three plants into a single facility. This major revamp is based on a three-pronged strategy focused on people, the network and digital transformation. Faurecia Caligny received the award largely by serving as a model in the region and for its efforts to improve access to the creation of a regional network as well as for its competitiveness via continuous improvement and digital technology.
The “Industry of the Future” showcase label is awarded by AIF to “companies which have developed and implemented an innovative project and have used a supply of mainly French technological or methodological solutions”. 20 companies received the label in 2016 and 35 in 2017.
