Four new companies awarded the “Vitrine Industrie du Futur”.
More companies in France now boast the “Vitrine Industrie du Futur” (showcase of the industry of the future) label. On 13 June 2018, the Industry of the Future Alliance awarded four new companies with the prestigious label. The label recognises products geared towards modernisation and business model changes within the French industrial fabric. ABCM, a machining company located in Vendée, was amongst the awardees. The company with 82 employees and a sales turnover of more than EUR 13 million in 2017) obtained the label for a collective project “which involved the entire company in the in-depth transformation of its production tool in order to increase its industrial capacity and competitiveness”, stated the Industry of the Future Alliance (AIF). The SME implemented a product / process innovation approach which fully incorporated upstream players (suppliers) and downstream players (customers), alongside a pragmatic strategy to reorganise production with the targeted introduction of robots and automatic vehicles (AGV), while harnessing the involvement of all employees. Bretagne Ateliers, a company located in Rennes (35, France) also received the label. Over several years, it has become a liberated absorber of knowledge which promotes the independence of staff (many of which are disabled) and fosters learning via an internal “trade school”.
Two major corporations were also awarded the label: Air Liquide France (for the second time), which has been able to renew the experience of its customers in its bottled gas activities while modernising its industrial operations through new digital technologies and Alstom whose Valenciennes (59, France) site increased its agility in particular with massive digitisation.
The “Vitrine Industrie du futur” label is awarded by AIF to recognise companies committed to the transformation of the industry in particular via digital technology. It should be noted that the 45 projects selected since its creation implement a supply of technological solutions that come mainly from France.
