Video: AZ Metal acquires a robot and wins market shares

By joining the Robot Start PME operation, AZ Metal secured the choice of its robot and its return on investment, which resulted in improved quality, productivity gains and a new market. Click here to view Ronan Le Tiec’s interview.

Right from the beginning, AZ Metal Production Manager Ronan Le Tiec says: “Robot Start PME allowed us to define our economic action plan and ensure that we were making the right choice”.

And the results were not long in coming!

The robot allowed us to achieve productivity gains and win new markets with high-quality products”.

Today, just as a AZ Metal, more than 170 companies have benefited from Robot Start PME, a programme which stems from the 32 nd “New Industrial France” plan (robotics), with a budget of 33 million euros, aimed at helping small and medium companies to acquire their first industrial robot.

Most of these supported companies (70%) have less than 50 employees. 80% belong to the manufacturing sector and 20% to the agri-food sector. As regards geographical distribution, the Rhône-Alpes, Pays-de-la-Loire and Bretagne regions take the lead with approximately twenty companies each.

Robot Start PME is funded by the French Government in the scope of the “Investissements d’avenir” (Investments for the future) scheme and implemented by Symop, Cetim and CEA List. The aim of this programme is to provide companies with assistance from a senior expert (diagnosis and consultancy). This expert helps companies define their projects, the specifications of the robotised cell and a suitable economic model. The expert also helps companies to prepare the necessary changes in their organisations and define the required communication and training actions for successful integration. This support scheme also provides funding amounting to 10% of the investment for the robot investment (limited to 20,000 euros, exclusive of tax).
