Robot Start PME turns 170
Robot Start PME has won its bet. The programme has provided support to 170 small and medium companies in 18 months and can still provide funding for a few more. Take a look at this video showing the feedback from the Lacanche company.
18 months since its initiation in October 2013, the Robot Start PME programme has become a huge success, with 170 small and medium companies which have received or are currently receiving support. 70% of these companies have less than 50 employees and belong to two major industrial sectors: manufacturing (80%) and agri-food (20%). The average investment amounts to Eur 200,000.
Robot Start PME was implemented to help small and medium companies to acquire their first robots. It provides expert assistance and 10% of the investment. The programme is implemented by Symop with expert assistance from Cetim and CEA List and funding from the French government in the scope of the “Investissements d’avenir” (Investments for the future) scheme. The initial aim of the programme is to help 250 volunteer companies to acquire their first robots.
This achievement required the pooling of energies, sharing of experience and coordination of expert skills. The financial engineering principles usually applied when providing assistance to small and medium companies also had to be revised to integrate investment support in the form of subsidies. Investment support is a key feature which makes this programme attractive for small and medium companies and comes as a complement to the assistance provided by experts, which is also essential to secure the industrial project.
Take a look at the video describing the experience of the Lacanche company, a specialist of high‑end kitchen ovens and ranges, one of the first companies to receive support from the Robot Start PME programme.
