LIGHTMAT congress
The first ever light materials conference organised by DGM, a German Metallurgy Company, was held from 3 to 5 September 2013 in Bremen, Germany. Aluminium, titanium and magnesium alloys were the focal point of this conference which also addressed other types of materials such as composites, whether metallic or otherwise. The growing number of multi-material solutions "the right material at the right place by the right process" was highlighted as a means of meeting the requirements for lighter structures, saving on material as well as preserving, and even increasing, product performance.
