Energy optimisation of furnaces out of production periods
This study is intended to assess the potential gains obtained by implementing a control system for furnaces during non-production periods: measurement of the consumptions of a forging furnace during production with the door open or closed, temperature rise profile and energy consumption, homogenisation time and energy, level of consumption, descent profile, etc. On the basis of these results, it was possible to create out-of-production control tools which will allow substantial energy savings.
