Distortion of press-formed and heat-treated parts: study of bent parts
Cetim has carried out bending tests of carbon steel in order to help industrial manufacturers better control the distortion of press-formed parts subsequent to heat treatment. These tests made it possible to highlight the influence of various parameters related with the bending process, the worked material, the type of quenching (bainite, martensite), the tempering, and the stress relieving, on the angular distortion of the parts and their variation. A continuation of this study is planned with regard to stress distribution in thickness of the bending part and the performance of additional tests with other treatments.
