Créé le : 24/01/2012

The application of Directive ATEX 94/9/EC, which regulates marketing of equipment and protective systems intended for use in a potentially explosive atmosphere became compulsory in july 2003.
The very purpose of an ATEX risk analysis in terms of equipment design is to look for potential ignition sources that may appear and bring them under control.
The objective of this report "Performance" is to produce a standard document for the analysis of hazardous phenomena within the scope of the ATEX directive concerning a overhead travelling crane.
It gives also the main profesional technical positions of reference thus facilitating the dialogue between manufacturers and the notified organisations.
As a general rule, the analysis of the overhead travelling crane highlighted that among the list of potentially explosive sources of EN 1127-1, the only significant hazardous phenomena present are those related to mechanical components.
