Hypocycloidal gears play a critical role in lifting winches. It is unavoidable that they progressively degrade and eventually break down while the machine is under operational condition. In addition the evolutions of the regulation of handling and lifting machines led to guarantee safety and availability of the installations. To avoid a useless disassembling of the cinematic chain for the control of each component, the industrialists wish to implement condition monitoring tool extended with a lifetime prediction method also known as a health prognostic system. In order to achieve this, appropriate parameters delivering information about the failure modes and vibration levels must be determined.
