What if nuts could talk? With its latest innovation, JPB Système, the specialist manufacturer of fastener solutions for the aerospace industry, has turned a dream into reality. Its “connected” washer offers a means to ensure that a nut is properly tightened just by getting close and without touching it. The unprecedented solution stems from a combination of the Paris-based SME’s strong skills in mechanics and software and Cetim’s expertise in mechatronics and connected objects. After the washer is placed on the market in 2020, the company intends to extend this technology to other components.
