Materials Testing: Safran will be relying on Cetim for another 5 years
Safran has renewed its material testing partnership with Cetim! The engine manufacturer has just signed a new partnership contract with the Centre which means that, over the course of the next five years, Safran will entrust Cetim with the testing of the manufacturing of aeronautical parts made of metallic and composite materials.
The signing of this contract takes place after 12 years of fruitful collaboration. In fact, in 2007, Cetim’s new Moroccan branch carried out its first tests on metallic materials on behalf of Safran Aircraft Engine Services Morocco. Years passed and the partnership got stronger in relation to tests on composite materials carried out by Etim, another branch of Cetim based in Bouguenais (Loire-Atlantique, France), which is a European champion in regards to Nadcap NMMT (Non Metallic Materials Testing) accreditation. « These two platforms, equipped with the latest tools and high-quality scientific teams, offer our group the ability to meet all of their mechanical testing needs, as well as carry out physical and chemical analysis, both in terms of production support and in R&T activities, explains Bruno Lemaire, who is leading the project for Safran’s Materials and Processes’ Management. This new contract will, over time, strengthen the cooperation between Safran and Cetim, a major partner in the French mechanical industry. »
