A design validated by accelerated ageing.
Georges Renault, a company located in Saint-Herblain (Loire-Atlantique, France) wanted to test the reliability of its new Chicago Pneumatic impact wrench under specific atmospheric conditions in order to validate the design and determine the proper conditions of use of the machine. The designer and manufacturer of handheld tools (grinders, impact wrenches, drills, sanders, etc.) used in car maintenance among other applications asked Cetim’s experts to carry out accelerated wet ageing tests on a new key component, a swivel fitting made from treated steel intended to limit the loads generated by the stiffness of the pipe and prevent the compressed air hoses from becoming twisted. “The results are satisfactory as all our equipment passed these difficult tests even when immersed in severe environments,” explained Wilhelm Isaac, head of the laboratory team.
