REACH compliance case studies

The current REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 and RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU apply to placing machines on the market within the European Union and impose requirements for the use of substances considered to be hazardous for the environment or human health in the Machine Tool sector. As such, the sector needs recommendations in order to properly comply with these requirements. After assessing substance-related issues with the help of the commission’s industrial professionals and using European Chemicals Agency documents, a six-point procedure was defined to assess the compliance of machinery, including example applications for completed products.
