Non-intrusive measurement of pressure pulsations by PVDF wire sensor

Measurement of vibrations or acoustic radiation of fluids in pumps, performed by sensors inserted by drilling into pipes, is particularly arduous, especially in an industrial environment, and almost impossible in locations that are difficult to access. The PVDF wire, allowing for non-intrusive measurement, was developed and analysed in the laboratory. An instrumentation protocol as well as a draft version of processing software were therefore developed. This new study (S1928) aims to evaluate the capacity of PVDF to estimate pulsation power by the measure of pressure pulsations at two points on the pipe.
