Improvement of tool lifetime – Feedback and tool sheets
Improving the service life of press tools is essential for companies in the die-cutting and pressing sector, enabling them to better meet their customers’ requirements, among other things, by adapting the tool to their needs, to control costs and better position themselves in relation to the competition. Among all the subjects inherent to this issue, and covered by various CETIM actions, this report covers the issue of feedback by means of analysis of tool sheets. The content of these documents is essential for the toolmaker when carrying out repair operations. After a detailed analysis of this data, the working group decided to focus its work on recording the “primaryˮ tool sheet information so that use of this information could be facilitated and optimised. The resulting analysis and the various examples of organizational systems presented are already available to companies in the sector, providing them with a framework for their own approaches to tool data collection and use.
