DFD finances its future development

Dense Fluid Degreasing (DFD) has entered a new phase. Further to developing its supercritical CO 2solution for cleaning, degreasing and removing particles from mechanical and textile products and the sale of the first five machines, the SME, established in Rhône-Alpes (France), is taking the necessary steps to continue its development. Accordingly, it has just secured a million Euros from Jeremie Innovation 2 (advised by Sofimac Régions), CACF Capital Innovation, CEA Investissement and private investors. The goal is to optimise its industrial process and organise its commercial development in France and abroad.

A clean technology

DFD uses the supercritical CO 2 technology applied to degreasing under the CEA licence and has developed its eco-friendly cleaning process in cooperation with Cetim and Air Liquide. This process is covered by 3 patents. As the winner of the Eco-Efficiency innovation award at Industrie Lyon 2017, it provides industrial manufacturers with a water and solvent-free process that is a clean, safe and efficient alternative to polluting chlorinated, oil and detergent-based processes. The company has set its sights on two main markets: cutting edge mechanical engineering and implantable medical devices and textiles.

The details of the operation are available in the document which can be downloaded below.

Presentation

This concept relies on all methods and technologies which care for their impact on the environment throughout a product or process life. Though reluctances due to, among others, legal constraints and potentially reduced commercial leeway, sustainable development is certainly a real opportunity for innovation.
This technological focus includes projects relating to : Environment and industrial risk management in order to anticipate compliance to regulations, implementation of eco-design approaches and technologies reducing the environmental impact of processes and products.
