Ewgae 2018
The agenda for the 33 rd edition of the Ewgae conferences dedicated to acoustic emission is now available online. This year’s event will be hosted by Senlis from 12 to 14 September to share the latest developments in the field.
14 themes have been chosen for Ewgae 2018. This 33 rd edition of the international conference on acoustic emission focuses on the breakthroughs in the various sectors and the new possibilities for inspected materials. Some of the themes that will be addressed include detection and processing of AE signals, inspection on various types of equipment, monitoring, characterisation, location of defects and applications. The programme of these conferences is now available on ewgae2018.com, in the conference section.
Constant monitoring
The first day of this three-day event will focus on the broad theme of monitoring particularly the monitoring of processes, equipment and metallic structures.
Special attention will also be given to composite materials on this opening day.
The second day will be centred on applications both on various types of equipment and in diverse sectors.
For example, a session will be entirely dedicated to pressure equipment. The specific case of corrosion monitoring is also on the agenda as well as material characterisation. The second day will also cover the inline monitoring of processes and systems in service. Various applications will then substantiate the AE monitoring of composite materials. These applications range from transport machinery to the medical sector in addition to tribology and geology.
The last day of the event will comprise three sessions of conferences: acquisition systems and data processing software, the location of defects and a focus on the civil engineering sector.
46 years of acoustic emission
Through the succession of conferences, Ewgae aims to share the latest developments in the field of acoustic emission. This widespread and quick non-destructive testing method is suited to applications designed to check the integrity of large structures and specifically lessens maintenance time and costly shutdowns.
It is a passive technique which allows inter alia the real-time monitoring of components in operation.
For the past 46 years, Ewgae has shed the spotlight on acoustic emission through international conferences. For the first time in 18 years, the conference will be held at Cetim in Senlis from 12 to 14 September 2018.
