2017 annual report: a year with Cetim
The 2017 annual report provides a review of an eventful and action-packed year for Cetim covering topics such as the industry of the future, innovation, international expansion and jointly-led mechanical engineering initiatives.
Cetim saw many key highlights in 2017 ranging from its enhanced presence in France to international development, in addition to completion of projects started in 2015 and 2016. The events of this remarkable year are covered in the annual report which can now be downloaded from the Cetim’s site in the "Le Cetim / Presentation" section. The report features the Centre’s continued involvement in the Industry of the Future and its roll-out of this initiative for French SMEs, the collective initiatives in France for the mechanical engineering community as a whole and its driving role in the adoption of new technologies.
A historic configuration where Cetim reinvents itself
This reference document takes a look back at the exiting moments which punctuated 2017.
In particular, the landmark achieved in the Asia-Pacific region through the signature of a strategic agreement with the Japanese company, KMTL, the reference independent laboratory for material tests, after the opening of the Kuala Lumpur office.
The 2017 annual report also sheds light on the regionalisation of our activities in France, further to the subdivision into major regions.
This is demonstrated inter alia by Cetim’s enhanced presence within the regions over the last two years, for example with Cetim-Ctdec via the launch of the Technocentre in Cluses, Cetim-Cermat through the Vulcain platform and the new branch in Metz. In more recent times, Cetim announced the creation of Cetim Sud-Ouest and its new location in the Paris region with the Saclay branch specialised in 3D printing alongside prestigious partners within the Additive Factory Hub. The icing on the cake of what was already an eventful year came through the takeover of the Nantes subsidiary Etim, which specialises in the testing of composite materials.
At the same time, Cetim continued to confirm its status and role as an industrial technical centre within the national ecosystem, most notably, in the Mechanical engineering sector, the Federation of mechanical industries and its professional unions as well as the UNM (Union de normalisation de la mécanique), the standardisation office for mechanical engineering and the government via the General directorate for companies. This presence and involvement also extended to the “Industry of the Future” particularly through the Industry of the Future Alliance and the BPI brought together within FrenchFab. The technological institute also strengthened its ties with the scientific world, the major schools and universities and contributed to the transfer of partnership research results as a Carnot Institute within the largest national partnership research network for SMEs.
