Cetim transfers its Adia 7 line
The transfer phase of Cetim's Adia 7 line has been launched! The high-velocity sheet adiabatic cutting technology, applicable to large series of metal sheets, is now available to manufacturers. Cetim has decided to launch this innovative process, providing support and knowledge transfer into the bargain, on a tool which allows 40,000 stokes without the need for operator intervention on the tool. Enthusiasts take note!
The adiabatic cutting and blanking technology is now available to all. This process provides a cut edge that is of a geometric quality similar to fine blanking, requires no lubrication and uses less material (- 10 to - 15 %). It offers a lighter tool design than fine blanking, and part output similar to traditional blanking thereby allowing higher production rates than fine blanking. It is also able to cut very hard materials (quenched Mn-B steels for example).
This is a great opportunity for manufacturers seeking to control an innovative process, as the tool performs more than 40,000 strokes without operator intervention. ADIA 7 can produce flat parts, in large series and at high speeds, with a minimum thickness of 2 to 3mm and maximum of 8mm in a very wide range of grades.
This line is the culmination of several years of research work to develop adiabatic cutting of metal sheets.
The conclusion of the last phase of development has brought with it considerable changes in the tool design in order to provide an industrial service life. The objective has been achieved for the ITC-IDEA project launched three years ago with industrial partners such as Adiapress, Sodel, Somica and Cartier Découpage-emboutissage, a partner university, École centrale de Lyon, and financial support from the Rhône-Alpes region.
These tool developments would not have been possible without the instrumentation of production tools, tests of the tool components, contribution from digital simulation and the integration of several innovative solutions. Cetim's Adia 7 line took advantage of these breakthroughs to produce pieces from different materials (soft steels, high tensile steels, stainless steels, etc.), with varying thicknesses (3 to 7mm), performing more than 40,000 strokes without operator intervention on the tool.
Presently, the transfer phase has been launched with sale of the Adia 7 line -composed of an uncoiler, a straightener, feed, a 7 KJ press - and support in learning how to use this technology. Are there any takers?
