Industry of the Future: support provided to 4,100 companies
Great strides have been made in the implementation of the Industry of the Future project across France with support provided to 4,100 companies as at late 2016, compared with an initial target of 2,000.
The Industry of the Future is being implemented at an extremely fast pace in France! “The Industry of the Future, 2 years later” was unveiled on 4 April 2017 at the Industrie Lyon fair and according to the latest statistics, as at late 2016, 4,100 small and medium industries had received support via regional and national initiatives to modernise their production tool. This is more than twice the target set by the Industry of the Future Alliance upon launching the programme! Furthermore, funding is still available with an estimated 8,000 more companies which can still receive support.
Amongst the companies already involved in the project since 2015, 2,230 have benefitted from the various implementation programmes established by the regions and a further 1,870 have benefitted from the schemes developed on a national scale and per sector, including the Robot Start PME programme, the Gifas Sector Performance Plan, the Industry of the Future Consulting Actions by Bpifrance and the PFA Sector Performance Plan.
The operations and programmes introduced within the small and medium industries supported in the regions, relate to diagnoses, adoption of new technologies, integration of numeric tools, organisation, environment, training and investments.
Experts and tools available to the companies
The aim of the initiative coordinated by the Industry of the Future Alliance and launched in 2015 is to help orchestrate the renewal of the French industry. This will be achieved by boosting investment, upgrading the range of products and services offered by companies and transformation of the companies via the contribution of digital technology. The Industry of the Future Alliance entrusted Cetim with coordinating the rollout of the approach in the companies. Accordingly, it has supported large-scale awareness actions across the nation and in conjunction with the other members of the Alliance provides technical support to regional executives and more than 550 consultants and experts nationwide via regional delegations.
Furthermore, several awareness raising tools have been developed for companies, in particular a collection of more than 170 testimonials from small and medium industries, http://exemples-aif.industrie-dufutur.org/, as well as the “Brick4future” application which helps companies to identify the key areas for the implementation of the Industry of the Future. This application offers several tools, including a roadmap to evaluate the path remaining to their target: www.referentiel-idf.org.
