Cetim acquires a new coordinate measuring machine, the only one of its kind in France
The coordinate measuring machine which has just been installed in Senlis combines extreme accuracy and a multisensor technology. This machine features several types of sensors to feed a unique model and opens many perspectives, especially in the aviation and medical sectors.
You will not find another machine like this in France. As a matter of fact, the Video Check HA coordinate measuring machine manufactured by Werth and which has just been added to Cetim’s metrology equipment is the only one of its kind in France with such a high level of equipment.
“The metrology of the future will be faster, more accurate, more reliable, more flexible and, above all, comprehensive”, said Pascal Sessa, head of Cetim’s metrology department. It will become a mix between measuring, digitising and surface measurement and will therefore combine the results of various types of measurements in order to feed a unique model. This is the vision that Cetim plans to implement with this extremely accurate machine (0.25+L/900 µm on each axis) equipped with various sensors: an optical sensor and a laser for measuring and digitising, a chromatic confocal sensor for surface measurement and a 2D fibre feeler able to measure bores with a diameter of 0.05 mm. This sensor will be particularly useful for deformable surfaces and to measure cavities.
The machine, installed in a room with controlled atmosphere (20°C ± 0,5°C), will mostly be used in applications requiring high-resolution digitisation and metrology, especially on very small-sized parts (in a work area of 400 x 400 x 200 mm), in the medical and aviation sectors, for the calibration of glass measuring rods, etc.
On 14 and 15 September 2016, Cetim will take part in the next edition of Enova, the trade fair dedicated to technologies related to electronics, measurement, vision and optics. For more information on this event, visit our website and go to the "Agenda" section.
