Make a strategic choice by becoming a member of Cetim’s professional commissions!
Would you like to help guide Cetim’s research works and be amongst the first to implement them? Become a member of one of its professional commissions and commit to taking part in two meetings per year.
Every year, Cetim dedicates 65% of its resources to technological innovation actions. Approximately half of this budget is focused on work requested by the representatives of each branch of the mechanical engineering industry via some thirty commissions which schedule and coordinate this work. In joining one of the commissions, you get to take part in this coordination and to determine the future research topics as well as becoming a member of a community of some of the best experts in your sector. In this way you have direct access to Cetim’s expertise. This is a significant advantage for small companies where specialist skills might be lacking. Naturally, participating in these commissions grants priority and privileged access to the latest technologic developments in your branch as well as to Cetim’s technology watch. Finally, it allows you to promote your image by displaying your involvement in the pooled research actions of your profession. And you are at home at Cetim.
Stäubli: an example to follow
Among the many industrial manufacturers which are involved in the professional commissions, Stäubli has been regularly taking part in Cetim’s collective actions for its textile machinery business for almost 20 years. Through its participation, it seeks to remain at the cutting edge of technological progress, acquire other skills and learn about new avenues to explore. Above all, “we definitely need more wide-ranging expertise than that within our reach. The collective actions are an excellent way to familiarise ourselves with technologies that we know little about”, explained Patrick Iltis, General Manager for France. The dialogue with the other industrial manufacturers in the sector is another positive aspect according to Patrick Iltis. “It is an extremely rewarding experience. We take full advantage of the proposals for research topics from the other members, which often give us a lot of food for thought”, he added.
