Cetim expands to the East of France
Cetim-Cermat and CRITT Matériaux Alsace have merged to create Cetim Grand Est. Its aim is to become the main technological support structure for companies in the Grand Est region, in order to improve regional and national economic development.
A new structure has been created in the Grand Est region. Cetim, Cetim-Cermat and CRITT Matériaux Alsace, all Carnot-labelled technological institutes, recently announced the creation of Cetim Grand Est, an associated centre stemming from the merger of Cetim-Cermat and CRITT Matériaux Alsace. Its aim is to become the main technological support structure in the Grand Est region for companies, in order to improve regional and national economic development.
The new structure combines the complementary expertise of both entities, thereby strengthening their existing business activities by expanding their range of services. The new centre will focus on three main areas: multi-material expertise, materials engineering and the control of productions in the Industry of the Future. Cetim Grand Est intends to develop new business activities and approach new markets, especially in relation to in-line production inspection, the simulation of product use, and the recycling of polymers and composites.
In partnership with the companies and public research institutions, Cetim Grand Est is also tasked with innovating, developing and transferring the products and processes of the future to industrial companies by leveraging on common-interest R&D projects.
In keeping with the regional economic development policies and the regional plan for economic development, innovation and internationalisation (SRDEII), Cetim Grand Est has become a major regional player for the transformation of the industrial network towards the Industry of the Future. It must foster regional industrial development and aid in the operational excellence of companies and the safeguarding of local employment.
Via this new entity with a staff of 80 people, Cetim is furthermore offering new local access to its entire range of expertise.
