Automation and modernisation are only half the battle. With this in mind, his management method to set the Bourges site apart involves “strategic dialogue between management and employees and full accountability of our employees to resolve problems as well as to test and oversee vital projects for the future of the company”.
In concrete terms, “all innovations released on the market are detected, developed and integrated into the plant by people” stated Matthieu Dassonville production manager. The cutting-tool manufacturer is working on all fronts, particularly through partnerships with the academic world, participative management, special focus on safety and user friendliness of work stations, whilst constantly making people the central focus. “This strategy has allowed us to lower production costs and halve the transfer time in the workshop, thereby reducing our level of work in progress and our finished products stock. At present, people are making innovations not robots!” announced Matthieu Dassonville.
