Serta switches to computer-assisted quotes
Serta France, a company specialising in the production of mechanical parts for third parties, has opted for digital costing. The company, which generates a turnover of € 4 million and employs over 30 people, has opted for TechniQuote software, able to automatically issue detailed costing for a part to be manufactured on the basis of its 3D CAD model or a hard copy diagram. Quotes continued to be issued manually, in parallel to software processing, for a short period. The results proved equivalent, however TechniQuote offers some undeniable assets. The software guarantees improved traceability by providing detailed information on the operations to be carried out and by archiving manufacturing procedures, material costs and other key data. TechniQuote can also be used to create machining procedures corresponding to the production methods and resources of Serta France. This configuration option allows the company to calculate prices which match the actual situation, with narrow margins for error.
