Robotics: Symop and Syrobo team up.
Symop (Syndicat des machines et technologies de production - French association of machines and production technologies), which also covers industrial robotics, and Syrobo (Syndicat de la robotique de services – the French union of service robotics) team up to carry the hopes and successes of the French robotics sector.
This merger was signed during the Industrie exhibition in Lyon (France) and is a perfect illustration of the disappearance of the frontier between industrial robotics and service robotics. As a matter of fact, in view of the latest industrial developments and uses, such as mobile industrial robotics, collaborative robotics or even cobotics, this frontier is becoming increasingly porous.
Syrobo thus becomes the 12 th group of Symop. Serge Nadreau, Chairman of the Symop Robotics group, and Bruno Bonnell, Chairman of the Symop Syrobo group, will define a common roadmap. Jean-Camille Uring remains the Symop chairman.
