New press safety standard.
Spurred on by France, the new press safety standard, EN ISO 16092, is moving forward at a steady pace! As proof of this, two sections of this standard “General Safety Requirements” for all presses and “Specific safety requirements for hydraulic presses” to replace standard EN 693 were published in February 2018. The work is being continued with the aim of further sections being published in 2019. This international standard lays down the technical requirements and the provisions to be observed when designing, manufacturing and supplying these items of equipment. In 2013, the drafting of the standard was entrusted to an international working group led by France. This process is partly financed by Cetim’s “Machine tools and production technology” professional commission.
