Mechatronics: 2% growth for 2014 … and 2015
With estimated sales of 5.6 billion Euros in 2014 (i.e. 2% growth compared with 2013) and 28,500 jobs as well as forecast growth of 2% for 2015, the French mechatronics sector has never been better. This high level of performance can also be seen in the export sector that represents more than 50% of the business. “Some of our companies export up to 70 to 90% of their products”, stated Bruno Grandjean, chairman of the union of mechatronics manufacturers (Artema), during the presentation of the sector’s results. This was also an opportunity for Artema to announce a broadening of its scope to sensors in 2015 and the arrival of new members. A good practices guide for the energy performance of transmissions and pneumatic automation was distributed during this event.
