Four mechanical engineering companies awarded the “Vitrines” label by the Industry of the Future Alliance
The Industry of the Future Alliance (AIF) awarded the “Vitrine Industrie du Futur” (industry of the future showcase) label to five new French companies. Amongst them are four players from the mechanical engineering sector who are manufacturers or users of production equipment. One such example is Magafor, a manufacturer of cutting tools which received the label for its development of an industrial tool combining new production, automation, robotisation and digitisation methods on its new site in Bussy-Saint-Georges (Seine-et-Marne, France).
The AIF also presented the label to the aeronautics subcontractor Latécoère, for its Toulouse site, built on a “fully digital” approach, ranging from the development of 3D models of the plant and machines to modelling of production processes in order to optimise the design and operating mode.
Two suppliers of industrial equipment also received the prestigious label: Lectra, a company from the Gironde region, and Gravotech, a company based in Lyons. Lectra has adopted a linear approach supported by an organisational change and has redesigned its products through the association of new services. For its part, Gravotech, a manufacturer of cutting, engraving and marking solutions, has set up a digital platform for product life cycle support, thereby providing quick access to information to its entire network while adopting new work methodologies.
Since 2016, the AIF has awarded the label to 31 companies. The companies awarded the label have all developed an innovative project to organise their production, which in most cases is based on digital technology. To be eligible for the label, they must supply technological solutions that are predominantly of French origin. This label provides them with national and international exposure and helps to enhance the dissemination of good industry practices by singling out noteworthy and inspiring projects.
