Economic recovery: the Carnot method.
The 34 Carnot institutes can take pride in a remarkable performance for 2013 demonstrated through a 17% increase in revenue from research undertaken for companies in 2013 including a significant growth in the actions performed for SMEs and intermediate-sized companies. The network of Carnot institutes thereby confirms its commitment to the policy of creating ties between public research organisations and private companies. In fact, 50% of the network’s turnover is achieved from public laboratories with the industry. This is a significant advantage in ensuring the economic competitiveness and the business recovery of French companies. These positive results should continue their upward trend in 2014 with the new organisation of the institutes in the economic demand sector. The objective of this change of scale is to include the other relevant players in the research and innovation ecosystem.
