Cetim expands to South-East Asia

Cetim has continued its international expansion policy with representation in Asean (Association of South-East Asian nations). Accordingly, following establishments in Tunisia and Morocco, the centre has now decided to set up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The goal is to develop its export business and know-how and provide local industrial manufacturers with high-level technology.

Malaysia, located in a high economic growth area, driven by many investment programmes and a wealth of significant natural resources, has become essential in the worldwide subcontracting chain in particular electronics and medical sectors and is now France’s 2 nd partner in Asean after Singapore. According to Bpifrance, more than 270 French subsidiaries are set up in Malaysia, compared with 160 in 2007. Besides its desire to develop its business in this large region of South-East Asia, Cetim also intends to enhance the image of “Made in France” mechanical products, while fostering the attractiveness of the area for French companies through its presence and offer of services. Cetim’s representation in Malaysia is embodied by Gilles Waeldin who has known the area for a long time. His offices are located in the epicentre of Kuala Lumpur.
