Video: learn about the Industry of the Future technologies!

Labo Industrie presented the Industry of the Future technologies at Industrie Lyon 2017 via 19 demonstrations. Watch video highlights of this event co-organised by Cetim, CEA, Symop, GL Events, Industry of the Future Alliance and the Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes regional agency, which hosted more than 1,600 visitors in four days.

The video on the Cetim France YouTube channel gives you a chance to experience in two minutes the atmosphere and demonstrations at Labo Industrie 2017, much like the 1,600 visitors who attended the tradeshow.

Connected objects and new processes

This year, the event that was jointly organised by Cetim, CEA, Symop, GL Events, Industry of the Future Alliance (AIF) and the Auvergne – Rhône-Alpes regional agency at the Industrie Lyon 2017 tradeshow, aggregated 19 demonstrations of technologies of the future in four themed areas incorporating the four levers of competitiveness set by AIF: connected objects and industrial Internet, advanced manufacturing processes, human’s new approach to work and piloted and optimised connected lines and production cells.

This video, filmed within the “Connected objects and industrial Internet” area features in particular Vapérail and its connected nut co-developed with Cetim, its connected headset intended to make work easier for maintenance operators of railway lines, as well as Cetim’s self-powered communicating autonomous sensor technology.

As regards the “Advanced manufacturing processes”, the spotlight was shed on Cetim’s Quilted Stratum Process (QSP), the innovation in high-speed manufacture of thermoplastic composite parts, as well as Thermosaïc, the thermoplastic recycling technology developed by Cetim-Cermat and its partners in the Ecotreve project. Some other solutions that were on display in this area include the hand-held drill that uses an AEI vibratory drilling technology and the demonstrations of topologic optimisation (with the Solid Thinking Inspire software) and contactless inspection of mechanical parts produced in additive manufacturing.

Collaborative robots and smart machines

The stars of the “Human’s new approach to the workplace” space were undoubtedly collaborative robots. One such example is the model by the Isybot start-up that was presented in a polishing application, or that used to enhance user-friendliness of a telecommunication antenna soldering station at Einea, in addition to the Rethink Robotics Sawyer robot, in an application developed by the integrator, Akeo+.

Finally, the video also presents the “Piloted and optimised connected lines and production cells” area with the self-adaptive machine technology Usitronic by Cetim-Ctdec, which provides online measurements of produced parts and automatically applies the necessary corrections to maintain the required level of quality. This innovation received the innovation trophy at the Tradeshow, in the “Industrial Performance” category.

Watch all these demonstrations on the “Retour sur le LaboINDUSTRIE 2017” (Highlights of LaboINDUSTRIE 2017) video on the Cetim France YouTube channel, and:
