Video Meetings 5.0 – Energy: "Hydrogen is the future!"

Frédéric Barth is convinced that hydrogen is the key for energy transition. "It is the essential element necessary to replace all fossil fuels with a decarbonated type of fuel, either by using it directly in electrical hydrogen vehicles or by converting hydrogen into synthesis fuel for air transport, for instance. We can thus meet transport emission decrease targets whilst becoming independent from oil imports", stated the H2Nova manager in his speech during the "Meetings 5.0", closing ceremony of Cetim's 50 th anniversary, on 5 July 2016 at Bercy (France). However, expediting the deployment of hydrogen vehicle fleets over the world requires expediting the installation of suitable stations. The start-up specialising in hydrogen vehicle refuelling solutions and Cetim are actively working for this purpose in the scope of the H2ref European Project which they are supporting with four industrial manufacturers (Hexagon, Haskel, CCS and LBST) and UTC, as Cetim's subcontractor. The goal is "to decrease costs and improve the reliability of the stations by using less costly technical solutions, more suitable for vehicle refuelling than the current solutions originally designed for the industry", explained Frédéric Barth. And the work will be completed shortly. The creation of the first H2ref prototype is planned in 2017 and a pilot unit as soon as 2018.

This video is the first one among a series of 4. In each episode, two major stakeholders reveal how industrial manufacturers meet the great challenges of the future world: energy, food, health and mobility. Watch this series on our website, "video" section and on the Cetim France Youtube channel.
