Video: Cetim-Cermat unveils its pilot “Composite and Recycling” R&D platform

Cetim-Cermat has a pilot line in Mulhouse which gives a second purpose to thermoplastic composites and recycled plastics. A new video, available on the Cetim France Youtube channel, explains the ins and outs of this unprecedented technology.

Cetim-Cermat’s pilot line, located in Mulhouse, provides a modulable solution for the recovery of thermo-plastic composites with recycled plastics. The proposed solution uses a single machine to offer two ways of recovering these materials: the manufacturing of recycled plates from thermoplastic composites and Upcycling - a process which transforms reused products into higher quality materials - of non-charged thermoplastics into fibre boards. The equipment is also used to create shaped parts. In this video, Frédéric Ruch, a polymer and composites engineering specialist at Cetim-Cermat, explains the challenges of recycling thermoplastic composites and the various possibilities offered by this unique line.
