The 3 prize winners of Productivez 2015!
The 3 Productivez 2015! prize winners this year are MIG for the “Productivity” category, Bilsing Automation France for the “Innovation Process” category and Lacanche, which received the “Special jury prize”. These companies are making the industry of the future a reality and they received their prizes in the premises of the French Ministry of Economy.
The “Productivez 2015” award ceremony took place on 16 April in Bercy under the patronage of Emmanuel Macron and in the presence of industrialists and their usual partners (BPI, DGE, technical centres, Think Thank, etc.).
These prizes are sponsored by the Symop, Gimélec and Cisma professional organisations with the ambition to showcase, every year, new high-performance industrial actions. In other words “companies which are making the industry of the future a reality!”
In this respect, the patronage of the French Ministry of Economy clearly shows that the situation concerning the competitiveness of French companies has become a matter of urgency. However, the ceremony took a symbolic turn in view of the investment made in the modernisation of the production tool to enhance the efficiency of the industrial sectors in our territories.
Special jury prize
Amongst the three prize winners, introduced by Cetim General Manager Philippe Choderlos de Laclos, the Lacanche company, a manufacturer of cooking ranges based in the Côte‑d’Or region (France), received the “Special jury prize”. Lacanche holds the “Entreprise du patrimoine vivant” label and has defined a sustainable strategy based on investment, with the latest one being a robotised cell. This new facility benefited from Robot Start PME (RSPME), a programme supported by the French Government and stemming from Plan 32 (Robotics) of the “New Industrial France”, which has helped more than 170 companies to acquire their first industrial robot. It is supported by the French Government within the scope of the “Investissements d’avenir”(investments for the future) scheme and implemented by Symop, Cetim and CEA List.
Productivity prize
The “Productivity” prize was awarded to MIG, a company specialising in sheet metal working and based in Fos-sur-Mer (France). MIG has taken up the challenge to invest in a multi‑tool robot (plasma cutting, welding, drilling) to enter the high-reactivity, small-scale production market or the high added value market of complex single piece production.
And success was not long in coming: time saving can be as much as 80% for certain parts, while raw material losses are reduced by 10%... As a result, MIG is able to offer prices often 10% below the usual market prices. Furthermore, this saved time is used by the most experienced welders to train young welders.
Innovation Process prize
Bilsing Automation received the “Innovation Process” prize. This company, based in Valenciennes (France), designs and manufactures robot grippers for the automobile industry and has invested in a 3D digital platform which integrates the CAD and simulation processes as well as the customer data analysis and management operations. This choice was dictated by the desire to improve the production rate and the implementation of the tools. The simulations are realistic enough to replace the prototypes or the first production runs and even, sometimes, to validate the processes before production launch. The speeds, rates and paths of the gripper-equipped robots are virtually tested and each gripper is designed based on the part that it will handle. As a result, the adjustment time in the customer’s premises has been reduced from 40 to 4 hours on average and six persons were hired, among other things. The package created by the French subsidiary of the German group is a hit with automobile manufacturers (Renault, Jaguar, Daimler, etc.) for their sites located in France, England and even in China, and it contributes to the rise in the company’s turnover in France as well as to that of its parent company.
