Multimaterial assembling: four new demonstrators for 2016-2019
The Multimaterial Assembling Programme (Pamm 2) for the 2016-2019 period involves the construction of four new high-tech demonstrators. 6.1 million Euros have been dedicated to this programme.
The multimaterial assembling programme (Pamm) which was completed in 2015 produced a wealth of innovation. As a matter of fact, it enabled the creation of a composite A-arm, a composite fly jib for a telescopic arm of a lifting device and a new version of the Cobra (V6) software, designed to assist in the dimensioning of pre-stressed bolted joints with controlled tightening. Five patents and 17 invention disclosures have also been filed.
In like manner as its predecessor, the goal of the new multimaterial assembling programme (Pamm 2), which covers the 2016-2019 period, is to overcome several technological barriers, foster multifunctional skills development projects, create an innovation division responsible for ensuring the promotion of the work performed and the construction of four new high-tech demonstrators.
These demonstrators are closely linked to the Quilted Stratum Process (QSP) ply layup module and the Technocampus Composites high-performance filament winding platform in Nantes. They relate in particular to a mechanical beam system (QSP project) and a new suspension arm (A-arm) helping to asses, inter alia, the durability of a composite assembling (3D Mechanics project).
Pamm 2 has a budget of 6.1 million Euros.
