Cetim-Ctdec was born!
Cetim and Ctdec throw in their lot together to give birth to Cetim-Ctdec. With support from the general corporate management DGE ("Direction Générale des Entreprises"), the federation of mechanical industries FIM ("Federation des Industries Mechaniques"), and the French national bar-turning Industry Union SNDC ("Syndicat National du décolletage"), this rapprochement for the benefit of bar-turners, of mechanics and of both technical centres will strengthen Cetim Alliance whose headcounts now almost reach 1,000 employees. A single tax will apply to bar-turners and mechanics, with exonerations for businesses with fewer than 10 employees.
After 3 year of this fruitful rapprochement, Cetim and Ctdec acknowledged a true convergence between their trades and subsequently gave birth to Cetim-Ctdec, whose purpose is to serve excellence in bar-turning and mechanical engineering. The Cluse site is becoming an R&D centre, a proximity centre for many local mechanical businesses at the same time, while remaining at the service of the bar-turning industry.
Cetim-Ctdec receives funding from Cetim to the amount of 1 million euros yearly, which allows a fine-tuned coordination between the R&D policies and investments for the two centres. The tax paid by bar-turners is merged with that of Cetim's, therefore the rate is reduced to 1 ‰ (per thousand) and the businesses with fewer than 10 employees are exonerated thereof. The governance is also changing: the Board of Directors of the new entity is equally comprised of industry bar-turning and mechanical parties from the Savoie region. The rapprochement required active cooperation between the trades (Market Federation of Mechanical Industries and French national Bar-turning union), operational parties from both industrial technical centres, as well as active support from the general corporate directorate DGE within the Ministry of Industry.
This innovative solution which regroups national and regional entities has proved its worth with Cetim-Cermat in Mulhouse and Cetim-Certac in Bourges (two centres in partnership with Cetim for more than 20 years).
Consequently, Cetim-Ctdec has now become a member of the Cetim Alliance in the same capacity as the other associated centres, thereby constituting a group of almost a thousand employees, distributed on 8 sites and covering all mechanical trades.
Cetim-Ctdec is a main pillar of the "Mont-Blanc Industries" competitiveness pole, labelled in 2005 by the French government, and is involved in many projects strongly focused on R&D such as: cutting, tolerance, surface cleanliness, knowledge management.
