Cetim-Cermat Dedicates Resources to Forging in the Grand-Est Region

By creating a branch dedicated to forging in Metz (France), the Cetim centre has expanded its range and geographic coverage.

Forging professionals have requirements, and Cetim intends to meet them. In all events, the branch recently created at Metz in Moselle (France) dedicated to forging aims to meet these requirements, in cooperation with Arts & Métiers Paristech - Metz and IRT M2P.

Boosting existing resources

This unit comprises a team specialising in metallurgy, processes and related simulation, is located on the site shared by IRT and the engineering school, and is managed by the Cetim-Cermat centre, associated with Cetim. This unit can back up the materials formatting laboratory (LAMFM), shared by Cetim and Arts & Métiers Paristech - Metz created in 2004. Thanks to this unit, Cetim-Cermat, the Cetim centre responsible for managing the branch, can expand its "metal materials" range with new process-based services, and enlarge its geographic coverage as part of the new Grand Est region. Finally, this structure opens up new ground for cooperation, both between Cetim and IRT M2P and between the three Carnot Arts institutes, MICA and Cetim.
