3D Start PME Helps Companies to Start Manufacturing Additives
The Alliance Industrie du Futur, Symop, CEA and Cetim have recently launched the 3D Start PME programme to support small structures in their introduction to the world of additive manufacturing.
Thanks to the Robot Start PME programme, hundreds of small businesses have been able to set up shop in robotics. With 3D Start PME, the Alliance Industrie du Futur (as part of its national initiative on additive manufacturing), Symop, Cetim and CEA, are repeating the experience with additive manufacturing.
The aim is to provide strong support for the deployment of additive manufacturing throughout the country in view of taking up the opportunities offered by this new technology (new products, usages, markets, new customer relations, better positioning in value chains, etc.), while providing guarantees for the decision-making processes and integration of SMEs and SMIs. In real terms, this policy enables companies which so wish to request support from Symop, Cetim or CEA, in order to assess the benefits of integrating these technologies in their manufacturing process and their impacts on their strategy, structure, skills and the digital chain. Participating SME benefit from a diagnosis and help with decision-making, support from independent exports with the deployment process, and access to resources for feasibility testing.
Starting with a pilot phase
A pilot phase, starting in the second quarter of 2017, aims to ensure the awareness of 37 companies and provide support for 12. This phase is organised in line with the national roadmap for additive manufacturing published by Alliance Industrie du Futur (AIF) and supported as part of the PIA (Future investments programme). After assessing this trial phase, this policy will be deployed more generally mid-2018, aiming to ensure the awareness of 300 to 500 companies in France, in coordination with the regions.
In addition to providing support for SMEs, this pilot project will be used to prepare awareness and training support documents, particularly integrating HSE (health, safety and the environment), which will provide a basic set of available resources for deploying actions in the regions.
