Welding of coated sheet metal

Good practice in welding of coated sheet metal stipulates removing all products from the workpieces to be welded, whether they are intended for protection against corrosion or limitation of spatter adhesion in MAG welding or are contaminants such as detergents or an oxide layer.

This study on the Welding of coated sheet metal aims to analyse each of these products to assess their practical effectiveness, determine the risk of cold cracking on joining, and estimate the volume defects such as porosity. It will be of interest to industrial companies in the agricultural machinery, construction machinery, handling and lifting equipment and storage sectors that are particularly concerned to know the impact that the presence of these different products might have on the quality of the items that they are welding.
