Surface heat treatment selection guide issue up to date as of January 2018
The Surface treatment selection guide 2018 version (9Q355) has been completely revised by a working group appointed by the Cetim heat treatment committee. Originally intended to enable mechanical engineers to select the best steels and their treatments suitable for the production of mechanical workpieces by means of a structural approach to the description of the steels and the selection of surface treatments, it has been updated with the latest developments in research and industry following a wide-ranging bibliographical survey. It now covers all the steel families, including the stainless steels, and includes many examples of selection methods. A review of the basics of metallurgy is provided, so that readers can obtain a full understanding of the subject.
